The Women and Gender Studies Institute (WGSI) at the University of
Toronto, invites applications for a tenure-stream appointment in
Transnational Feminist Studies. The appointment will be at the rank of
Assistant Professor and will begin July 1, 2016.

Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences
in a relevant discipline by the date of appointment or shortly thereafter.
Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated record of
excellence in teaching and research. Evidence of excellence in teaching
will be demonstrated by letters of reference, teaching evaluations, dossier
and/or syllabi submitted as part of the application. Evidence of research
excellence will be shown through research of an internationally
competitive caliber, demonstrated by publications in leading journals in the
relevant field, presentations at significant conferences, awards and strong endorsements by referees.

This position has a focus on interdisciplinary feminist scholarship of political economy, sexuality and spirituality as each cuts across diaspora,migration and queer of colour critique in relationship to contemporary
debates in gender studies. We seek a theoretically and interdisciplinary
engaged scholar of gender, feminism and sexuality and queer of colour
critique whose scholarship and research is committed to reframing
contemporary gender studies. The candidate will supervise and teach
students in the above areas of research.
